Når der så er tale om en af klassikerne fra Amager Bryghus; Hr. Frederiksen, så kan det jo ikke gå helt galt, eller hvad?
Hr. Frederiksen var en af de allerførste øl Amager Bryghus bryggede. Et chok af en stout på det tidspunkt – var det 2007?
. Stadig en af de allerbedste danske stouts i min bog.
-og så er de lokale fra Amager et af mine absolutte favoritbryggerier. Nå ja, så har vi da præferencerne på plads.
Amager Bryghus Hr. Frederiksen (Nieport edition).
Der findes vist 11 forskellige versiner af Hr. Frederiksen.
Den originale Hr. Frederiksen er en voldsom herre. Masser af maltbitterhed og tilsat et godt skud centennial humle giver det en noget rå, men utroligt velsmagende stout, der sagtens kan bære en del fadlagring for at mildne det rå en anelse.
Alle 11 versioner har været utroligt velsmagende og fadlagringen har været meget vellykket. Ikke nødvendigvis en selvfølge for Amager Bryghus, der tidligere var kendt for at “glemme” nogle af deres bryg på fadene, så de fik lige lovligt lang tid i kontakt med træet.
Nieport edition har ligget 12 måneder på Nieport fadet og det er da også længe. Er det mon for meget denne gang?
Tempereret, så den ikke er alt for kold hælder jeg den i glasset. Den ligner sig selv. Stort cremet lysebrunt skum på en helt sort krop. Det starter godt
Der dufter allerede lækkert inden jeg stikker næsen i glasset.
Vanillie, fruit, portvin, ristede noter.
Smagen er alkohol, vanillie, kaffe, portvin, frugt, bær. Meget frugt.
En anelse syrlig med et enkelt strefj af neglelakfjerne. Nok en urenhed fra tønden, men i så lille mængde, at det blot føles som yderligere et bidrag til kompleksiteten. Måske er den ikke het ren, men faddet har rundet Hr. Frederiksen af og gjort ham helt medgørlig.
Eftersmagen afslører humlen. Citrus og nåletræ. Lækkert
.
Stadig stor krop. Blød til medium karbonering. Laaang eftersmag.
Hr. Frederiksen er der stadig. Meget mere frugt end i standarversion, men stadig masser af malt.
Nu har der så været et hav af fadversioner. Denne Nieport edition er rigtig frugtagtig ifht. flere af de andre.
Men hvad med en egentlig frugtversion af Hr. Frederiksen. Hindbær? Kirsebær?
Jeg er sikker på, at det vil klæde Hr. Frederiksen.
Hr. Frederiksen er nemlig en rigtig robust herre, der kan tåle lidt hvert
og tilmed vinder på nogle af “eksperimenterne”.
